My other hobby…. FISHING!
So, as many of you already know, outside of skating one of my favorite things to do is to get outdoors and enjoy nature. My favorite thing to do in the outdoors is to fish. I go to school in a city called Winona, MN. There is nobody/nothing to skate, but it is one of the most beautiful places in Minnesota that i have ever been. The city is located on the Mississippi River, giving me great access to perfect fishing grounds. My favorite place to fish is on a dam spillway. Which you can see below…
The current provided by the dam creates a perfect area in which fish congregate and wait for smaller prey to feast on. I fish wish a Guide Series Rod and Reel, with 10 lb. test line and generally use a little lure called a Mimic Minnow, made by northland tackle, see below…
This little guy is perfect for my main goal, the Northern Pike. I have caught numerous pike, walleye, bass, and many other gamefish with this lure. As you saw in the above picture, i wear waders, and wade into the shallows, casting on either side of the dam. Here are some pictures of the bigger fish i have caught the first two are of a 20 Lb. Pike, the next is a nice walleye and the last is a flathead catfish… (Notice the Hoody)
here are a couple other pics from over the years… both were caught in Canada. Walleye, and a 46 inch musky pushing 30 Lbs… oh and a massive largemouth too.. ha!
